The Basic Sail course consists of an orientation session, lecture content, and On-the-Water (OTW) classes. OTW classes are held on Meadow Lake at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

The goal of TASCA's Basic Sail course is for students to be able to rig, de-rig, and sail a boat solo by the final session.

The minimum age for the Basic Sail program is 16.

Attendance at all scheduled sessions is required. Make-up dates are reserved for weather-related cancellations only. If you anticipate a conflict with any of the dates, please register for a different session.

Requirements:
Sailing is an active experience. Participants need to be comfortable moving around the boat and shifting from one side to the other while sailing on the water.

We welcome all ages, but for safety, you should be able to move about the boat on your own.

Refund Policy:
We understand that plans change. Cancellations made at least 3 weeks before the class start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 3 weeks before the class start date are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued once the course has begun.
